http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=957470 Bug ID: 957470 Summary: Launch widgets set "run as diff.. usr" pop Plasma error dialog UNDER open windows - unseen Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: 64bit OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: rlaggren@mail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Edit widget on favorites bar of start menue (eg. "kate") -- use Advanced tab, check "run as different user"; enter "root"; save edits. Click widget on Favorites bar, dialog to enter password opens; enter password, application opens (at least "kate" does). Panel (task bar) at bottom of screen becomes grayed out and useable; the application you opened works fine. On closing, moving or minimizing the application you just launched you find a Plasma error dialog box hidden under it: KDEInit could not launch '/usr/lib64/libexec/kf5/kdesu' Closing this error box frees up the task bar again. Problems: 1) An error occurs; 2) (Bigger problem) the task bar becomes unusable until you discover the error box. 3) (Even bigger problem) what else is broken in the KDE Plasma desktop interface and when will it bite? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
