--- Comment #12 from Frederic Crozat
(In reply to Frederic Crozat from comment #9)
Xorg log should be available in /var/log/gdm/. Is there a problem there ?
Frederic, this is the stdout log, isn't it? If not started with special options it is not very verbose also it is missing time stamps.
quick summary of what is available from gdm (only valid for SLE12, not openSUSE) - in journalctl (journalctl -u display-manager.service) won't contain much, since all output from gdm should go to /var/log/messages. I suggest to not use it on SLE12. - /var/log/messages contains output from gdm main daemon and greeter - /var/log/gdm/:0.log (or :1...) contains the X server log - /var/log/gdm/:0-greeter.log contains the output of the greeter (gnome-shell + gdm plugin) of gdm - ~/.xsession-errors contains session output -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
