http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=911152 Bug ID: 911152 Summary: hp 1220 bad setup Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing Assignee: jsmeix@suse.com Reporter: epistemepromeneur@free.fr QA Contact: jsmeix@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- opensuse 13.1 x86_64 , kde 4.14.3 my printer hp 1220 is a usb printer-scanner . scanner is not an option or extension . i bought and installed 2 extensions in their slots : - a 64 Mo memory - a postscript hardware device according to have a postscript printer . i switch on the hp 1220 then a notification appears in the systray indicating proceeding setup of the printer then after a delay i click on the button "print test page" in notification then no print after the installation i must switch off then on the printer according to print . i launch libreoffice writer then i try to insert an image scanned from the hp 1220 then libreoffice writer indicates there is no scanner i must manualy install the packet "hp-sane" to install the hp 1220 scanner. i launch the yast printer manager then i see that : - the installed driver is the "HP LaserJet 1220 foomatic/pixelmono" driver instead of the "HP LaserJet 1220 postscript (recommended)" - "letter" is selected instead of "A4" for a french installation. with "HP LaserJet 1220 postscript (recommended)" i found almost all features i get with a MS Windows setup . "HP LaserJet 1220 foomatic/pixelmono" driver is a regression . the HP printer manager is not installed . HP tools is feature richer than system-config-printer and system-config-printer-applet. how to install it without any conflict with system-config-printer and system-config-printer-applet ? Because the two's wants to setup the hp-1220 and the two's wants to send notifications . -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
