I'm affected by this bug as well. This is HP Zbook 14 (which is officially
supported by SuSE enterprise.
sudo lspci |grep -i vga
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated
Graphics Controller (rev 09)
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Mars
[Radeon HD 8730M]
I also find that if I try to use vgaswitcheroo to switch to the discrete
graphics card with:
echo "DDIS" > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
results in
Dec 01 14:12:19 linux-fa1o.site kernel: vga_switcheroo: client 0 refused switch
this seems to be because pulse audio is using the integrated card for audio.
If I kill pulseaudio, the same command results in an unresponsive screen after
restarting X however. By that I mean I only see the cursor on the top left
(without it blinking) and I can't switch to any other VT. However I can push
the power button and the laptop shuts down. However I don't have any error
related to this in the logs.
