I have the timezone set to denver. I also run windows, which also resets the
clock, but this time change happens between reboots of opensuse only. And since
opensuse can't set the time from a timeserver properly, I can also see the time
slowly drift behind actual time. ie. the minute is now 42, but opensuse's clock
is still at 40.
$ ll /etc/localtime
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 36 Aug 25 14:56 /etc/localtime ->
../usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Denver
$ ntpq -pn
ntpq: read: Connection refused
$ hwclock
hwclock: Cannot access the Hardware Clock via any known method.
hwclock: Use the --debug option to see the details of our search for an access
method.
$ hwclock -w
hwclock: Sorry, only the superuser can change the Hardware Clock.
$ sudo hwclock -w
The time doesn't change after sudo hwclock -w
