https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=883801 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=883801#c0 Summary: Fingerprint scanner device runs only by the administrator-user Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: esddss@t-online.de QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0 Using a fingerprint scanner device, the YaST of Suse-Linux accept this only by the administrator-user. Another user can't start this device, you get here the error-message that the fingerprint scanner device can't be opened. I have done some experiments, so I deacitivated for a time the data '.ICEauthority' in the root-folder(/var/lib/gdm/). I determined, that '.ICEauthority' interrupts the opening of the fingerprint scanner device when I try to start this with another user as the administrator-user. Without '.ICEauthority' in the root-folder I can start the fingerprint scanner device with another user as the administrator-user! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Starting a fingerprint software as administrator-user, fingerprint device opens. 2. Starting the same fingerprint software as another user, fingerprint device does not open. 3. Test with '.ICEauthority' Actual Results: I get an error-message that the fingerprint scanner device can't be opened. Expected Results: The fingerprint scanner must be opened by any user! Any other user have also fingerprints! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
