On another machine with the same (that is, up to date as of 2014-05-04) version of openSUSE Tumbleweed the virtualization still works! I tried removing all libvirt* packages, removing any config files I came across that could somehow be related to virtualization and recreating them by running the Yast2 "Install Hypervisor and Tools" entry, but with no luck so far.
