https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=865805 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=865805#c0 Summary: Steam can't use pulseaudio at the same time as all other applications Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@suse.com ReportedBy: Antoine.Saroufim@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 If a music player is running and Steam is started, Steam won't play any sounds. If Steam is launched first and ANY other app or program (including aplay) is used, that app or program won't play sounds. Killing and restarting pulseaudio (pulseaudio --start not start-pulseaudio-x11) solves the issue. Starting pulseaudio with pulseaduio --start directly instead of start-pulseaudio-x11 doesn't solve the issue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.boot system 2.launch steam 3.launch media player Actual Results: Either Steam or every other system sound or app use the sound, not both at the same time. Expected Results: Steam and system to stop fighting over pulseaudio all the appropriate pulse and alsa libs are installed, even the 32 bit ones. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
