https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=848638 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=848638#c0 Summary: Boot sometimes delayed by start job message Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: RC 2 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: norbert.jurkeit@web.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0 Sometimes (in about 1 of 3 cases) the message "A start job is running for dev-vg00-home.device" is displayed during boot along with red stars moving between brackets. After about 1.5 minutes a yellow marked message appears, the boot process continues and the system becomes fully operational, despite of the mentioned messages. When I tried to look up the yellow message in /var/log/boot.log (it vanishes from the screen too fast to be read), I noticed this file to be empty in such cases. Reproducible: Sometimes openSUSE 13.1 RC2 was installed freshly from KDE live DVD 32 Bit. The message is obviously related to the file system to be mounted on /home, which already existed and is located on a LVM2 logical volume, where the physical volume is located on a MD raid level 1. This setup has worked well for many years. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
