https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847510 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847510#c0 Summary: GPT partioning of previously MBR partitioned disk will not boot after install Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: froh@suse.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- To work around bug 841426 (RC1 won't load the kernel on UEFI), I booted using legacy mode. I then told the partitioner to kill the old MBR partitioning and switch the disk to GPT. The install completed but the disk was not bootable afterwards, still in legacy mode. Io turned UEFI back on and installed another OS version on the same machine, into another root partition. That made the disk boot-able and 13.1 appeared in the boot menu and it just works. So the problem is in setting up the freshly partitioned GPT disk to become bootable. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
