https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=842983 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=842983#c0 Summary: Pulseaudio volume resets to 100% on system sounds Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@suse.com ReportedBy: pastas4@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 When a KDE system sound is played, the master volume of the default sound card resets back to 100%. While normally it would be quite annoying, in my case (ctxfi drivers) the baseline volume is 12%, so having it go all the way up to 100% could even have detrimental health effects... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set both the master and system sound level so something low (like 12%) in Veromix or pavucontrol. 2. Open Dolphin, press the delete key to get a deletion prompt (which also plays a system sound). 3. Notice that the sound levels have reset to 100%, both the master and system sounds. 4. Sometimes it doesn't reset on the first try, but opening the delete confirmation dialog a few times makes it reset eventually (typically happens about every other time a system sound is played on my system). Actual Results: The sound levels reset to 100%. Expected Results: The sound levels should stay at 12%. Using openSUSE 13.1 Beta with a Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer sound card (ctxfi drivers). This issue never happened in 12.3 or earlier. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
