https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=817476 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=817476#c0 Summary: GNOME 3.8 does NOT remember, nor retain, the SIZE/positions set for many application WINDOWS. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dustinfalgout@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.31 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/26.0.1410.63 Safari/537.31 Since upgrading to GNOME 3.8 and unchanged with the 3.8.1 updates, the window size and positions are not retained for many applications. Also, if changes happen inside of the app, the window reverts to a tiny square as it started. For example, YaST Software Manager opens up as a tiny square. You can re-size the main window and then also re-size the frames to allow you see everything but as soon as you do a search the changes you made do not stick. This happens in dialog windows showing a status bar as well, the window will re-size every time the status bar is updated. While it doesn't happen in every application it affects many. I could not find any bug reports here but I did find these two upstream that I believe may be related. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=696882 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=698571 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open YaST Software Manager, YaST Repository Manager, Chrome, ect. 2. Re-size the window that opens. 3. Continue to use the application as normal. Actual Results: The window reverts back to original small size OR changes to some other size. Expected Results: Window should not change size after it is re-sized and should retain size and position settings across reboots and relaunches of the application itself. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
