https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=801856 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=801856#c0 Summary: print openSUSE and kernel version on boot screen Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: All OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@suse.com ReportedBy: estellnb@elstel.org QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 It would be nice if openSUSE Live and Install DVDs printed the openSUSE kernel and OS version right on the boot screen so that you know what you are booting from. I have just exchanged x86_64 and i586 by accident. Additionally when booting from dvd+rw you often can no more remember the version (and writing it down is not possible because you would need to rewrite it on every burn).
