https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=801797 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=801797#c0 Summary: After screen-unlocking gnome shell does not show desktop Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 12.3 Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 After unlocking the screen from screen-lock, gnome-shell sometimes does not show the desktop, instead showing just the gray screen (background of screen lock curtain) and top bar. At this stage Alt+F2 works, as does Alt+Tab display (shows the app icons but does not switch to a chosen app itself). Have to hit Alt+F2 and 'r' to restart gnome-shell, upon which normal desktop activities are resumed. The same issue has been also reported in the redhat bug tracker and upstream. The upstream bug has a patch.
