As of today it has accumulated a large number unused subdirectories: sh-4.2# ls /tmp/.mt* | wc -l 24493 sh-4.2# ls -la /tmp/.mtZZvaRvtxJv/ total 476 drwx------ 2 nobody mktex 4096 Jan 30 13:58 . drwxrwxrwt 12262 root root 479232 Feb 1 15:30 .. sh-4.2# It surfaced as systemd-tempfiles was busy for several minutes stating all these files.
