--- Comment #10 from Howard Moreland 2013-01-19 00:22:26 UTC ---
FWIW, on this ThinkPad X-41, 32-bit, running openSuSE 12.2 (default KDE
installation 4.8.5, Linux 3.4.11-2.16-pae i686, KMix Version 4.1), the OSD and
tray icon both show volume changes.
The Global Keyboard Shortcuts for Kmix 4.1 looked the same as for 12.3 beta 1
which has KMix Version 4.3
Kmix 4.1 has no check box to enable / disable OSD.
In 12.2, I switched the shortcuts from default to custom - none for all three
buttons. The buttons still changed sound correctly, but the OSD did not pop up.
However, when playing an mp3 file in Kaffeine with the custom shortcuts,
pushing the buttons gave a text message of the volume level in the Kaffeine
window.
In 12.3 beta 1, playing the mp3 file in Kaffeine with the custom-none
shortcuts, pushing the buttons showed nothing in the Kaffeine window.
