Raymond,
In Global Keyboard Shortcuts, the correct buttons have been assigned to Kmix
volume up/volume down/mute. The buttons do correctly change the sound, there is
just no visible indication of the changes. 12.2 does show changes via graphics.
I changed the KMix shortcut actions from default to custom - none for all three
buttons. However, the buttons still did control sound. I set them back to
default and they work but still with no graphic indication.
In KMix configuration, show OSD is checked. I unchecked it, applied, checked
again, applied. Still no OSD pops up when buttons are pushed.
This is on the ThinkPad X-41, 32-bit, now 12.3 beta 1, default KDE installation
4.9.97, kernel Linux 3.7.1-1-desktop.
KDE Bug 206724 is not present on this system. With KMix applet open, the
buttons do change the sound, but no visible indication.
I'll boot to 12.2 and test the KMix shortcuts there.
