There is nothing to help in the driver about this. It's just because BIOS
advertises that all 4 HDMI ports are available.
The recent PA should be able to choose one of multiple HDMI ports. Can't you
select it in PA? Also, the future version of PA will switch the output
automatically by checking HDMI port hotplug event.
If you'd like to "fix" this statically (supposing you don't need any other HDMI
ports), you can override the BIOS setup via "patch" module option of
snd-hda-intel driver. The brief description is found in
Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio.txt.
In short, get the initial pin configuration from
/sys/class/sound/hw*/init_pin_configs. Disable the unnecessary pins by
replacing with the value 0x411111f0. Then create a "patch" firmware file
containing these corrected pin configuration entries, and pass it via "patch"
option.
