--- Comment #10 from Atri Bhattacharya 2012-07-01 15:36:47 UTC ---
There are now patched builds of the libwebkit3 stack available at
[1]
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=libwebkit3&project=home%3Abadshah400%3Abranches%3AGNOME%3AFactory
(for those who have access to obs).
These will shortly appear at
[2]
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/badshah400:/branches:/GNOME:...
for testing as well (no idea why publishing is taking this long).
I have tested these patched builds on my system as follows:-
I was using the present versions of libwebkit in openSUSE:12.2/Factory, and
this problem suddenly cropped up (as I said, it is not like this problem can be
reliably trigerred on my system at least). So gnome-control-center would not
start and print the long backtrace when launched from the terminal. In this
state, I upgraded the patched libwebkit3 stack from my branch [1], and tried
starting gnome-control-center from the terminal again (no logout-login, or
restart necessary). And this time it worked. At the end of this exercise I am
convinced that the patched libwebkit3 stack fixes the issue for me completely.
Karl,
Could you please test if upgrading to the patched libwebkit3 stack at [1] (if
you have an obs account) or from [2] when it is published fixes your issue too?
Thanks a lot!
