This is from booting with the workaround described in my initial comment.
Please have a look at comment #32 in this forum thread:

There "lwfinger" explains the technical details of the problems between the new
udev versions and the ipw2200 driver.
It seems that I will have to live with the workaround until someone fixes the
driver. But it would be nice, to get Networkmanager working with this
workaround.
