Thanks. I'm glad that you found some documentation.
In the ideal situation, all Linux documentation should be reachable (at least
indirectly) from man pages or info pages.
In this case, since there are separate modules involved, the best situation
would be if the tc(8) man page had references to other (new) man pages
describing the separate module functionality in the SEE ALSO section. You can
see that it already does have several such links:
SEE ALSO
tc-cbq(8), tc-htb(8), tc-sfq(8), ...
Short of this, the SEE ALSO section could just have references to the
documentation that you mentioned (wherever it was located under /usr/share/doc,
etc.).
In other words... the basic problem I'm trying to fix here is: the way things
are now "you can't get there from here" when starting from the tc(8) man page
and trying to get to the documentation about some of the more obscure
functions. I'm trying to save the next guy from spending all afternoon hunting
across the Internet and (ultimately) having to just read the source code.
