I found that the screen returns to life as soon as I attach an external monitor
to my laptop. As a workaround I added the "enable_mtrr_cleanup" and "nopat"
kernel options (I found this recipe somewhere on the net). It works for boot,
but not for resume from hibernation. By the way, the screen remains blank
forever, if I do not use the "intel" xorg driver (which seems buggy).
