This is IMO not a zypp issue at the first place. It's one of the few
requirements, that a pending update stack update blocks all further updates. 

I'm a bit reluctant to change the backend to simply send the whole list of
patches because I don't know which apps (beside apper) use this call. They all 
would need to be adapted in order to handle the update stack patches correctly.

So I'd prefer a solution where the frontend would query for 'blocked' patches
if it actually wants to display more detailed info.

Passing it to the apper guys. Maybe something to be discussed on
opensuse-softwaremgmt as well.
