https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=747110 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=747110#c0 Summary: With Akonadi/Kmail2 one cannot delete/move/change flag of a message Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: zdrahal@ipnp.mff.cuni.cz QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.34 (KHTML, like Gecko) QupZilla/1.1.5 Safari/534.34 After a clean install of Opensuse 12.1, I cannot use the shipped Kmail2 for any operation with my emails. Therefore, I have upgraded to KDE4.8 hoping that new version works better, but there is the same problem. My emails are stored on remote server (Debian, UW-Imapd) and I am connecting to it by IMAP (the regular, not the disconnected one) using Kmail2 with Akonadi. It is reading all the messages fine but the following problems happen when I want to: *) mark a message as read, after some time (I guess after synchronization of Akonadi with the server) the message appear again as unread *) delete or move a message to another directory, after some time it reappears. Sometimes after such action there appear a window telling that there exist two instances of that message and that I should choose between the left one, the right one or leave both. Depending on my choice (I am not using the last choice of leaving both), either the problem from above occur or there appear two instances of the particular message (one with the correct flag and one with the original one). It makes the use of Kmail2 impossible and this program (which should be one of highlights of KDE) is useless. BTW. In order to enable the use of another mailing program, one needs to check the retrieval option 'Switch offline on KMail Shutdown' on this account - which is not default - otherwise the mailbox is locked by Akonadi in background. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Use the Kmail2 for working with emails on a remote IMAP server. Actual Results: One can read emails but any other operation will produce unwanted result in the mailbox. Expected Results: Enable to work with emails as any other program (as previous KMail without Akonadi -) does. KDE version: Platform Version 4.8.00 (4.8.0 "release 2") Kmail version 4.8.0 Note: When I have tried to use the disconnected IMAP, Akonadi never finished with synchronization - for many hours (>20) it indicated Syncing INBOX (0%) so, I have restarted Akonadi with a "connected" IMAP mode (deleting all Akonadi configuration files and setting up new accounts). Now I am using Kmail/KDE3 which works fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
