I've discovered that this bug is more serious than I had expected. It turns out
that when using YaST, no changes are *ever* written to the boot loader, no
matter what you enter into the user interface. I added a Windows drive to one
of my openSUSE 12.1 systems, and attempted to modify the GRUB bootloader
options through YaST. I found that after making changes, they *were not saved*.
I have therefore moved the issue to YaST, and moved the issue up to 12.1.
