https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=746024 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=746024#c0 Summary: Migration to KMail2: Data loss Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: axel.braun@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1 Kmail was running on openSUSE 11.4 / KDE 4.6.5 New installation of 12.1 with /home taken over from old installation. On first start of KMail2: Migration failed. Deleted two files in the ~/.kde4 tree and run kmail-migrator --interactive That seems to work in the first glance Calling Kmail2 up again: - all DIMAP-accounts are not migrated, but all data is fetched from mail servers again (some 2.5GB...) - IMAP mail data is now doubled in filesystem (the eeePC has only a 16 GB SSD, so this is critical) - Local Mail folder including subfolders have disappeared ! The burning questions are: - how do I get my local mails back? - which data (from the KMail1 mail files) can I delete - where is it located? - when I now just delete a single email, where does it go? There is no trash folder anymore. As data is lost I set this bug to critical Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just start KMail and try to migrate 2. Tried this now two or three times, every time a different shit 3. This is now the description of the latest problems Actual Results: Mail folders not migrated, but fetched again. Local mail lost Expected Results: All data is migrated and available, all mail account and filter settings are preserved -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
