It seems the crash in kontact is triggered by the patch that removes the crash
in stand-alone kmail.

This is the patch:

If somebody knows better how to fix it you are welcome.

Jo Schulze, it seems Pearson closed your report as duplicate because you
described it poorly.

I also suggest to report this regression to GCC bug tracker. The crash in
stand-alone kmail appears with changing GCC version. This should not be the
case and clearly a bug in the compiler.
