Tried with the Fn keys, xbacklight and the power management icon. When on powersave, the lower backlight is not honored. After resuming from s2r, the backlight is on lowest, can hardly see anything. Sometimes, putting it again in s2r and waking it up after modifying the brightness output makes it again 100%. I don't experience this on my older t61p, also running 12.1 64bits. Attached my hwinfo. /var/log/messages is quite ok, but well no effect.
