What you see is Gnome 3, as opposed to gnome 2.x which was in openSUSE earlier
versions.
See http://www.gnome.org/gnome-3/
There is a so-called fall-back mode which mimics the look-and-feel of gnome2 to
a certain extend, but not completely.
You can install the "gnome2-look-and-feel" package which will offer you that
choice at the login prompt. Beware though: this is not guaranteed to remain in
future versions: all development efforts are concentrated on GNOME3, which,
frankly, you should just keep using for a while; most people tend to like it
after a few days.
As for the bug, I'm assigning it to 'Documentation', as ultimately that's
actually what is wrong in this case.
