OK, what about the hda-verb pin setup? If you pass 0x21 instead of 0x20, does
it make sound worse? The difference is the bias voltage.
0x21 means the vref-50 and it's usually a better choice for the mic input jack.
Meanwhile, for a line-in jack, 0x20 may suit better.
