Haven't found alsa-driver-unstable-kmp in multimedia:/audio:/KMP/openSUSE_12.1/
Only 2 versions of alsa-driver-kmp-desktop and tested both of them :

alsa-driver-kmp-desktop-1.0.24.20120123_k3.1.0_1.2-1.1.x86_64
alsa-driver-kmp-desktop-1.0.24.20120124_k3.1.0_1.2-1.1.x86_64

Tried both alsamixer and alsamixer -c0 and no change as far as I can tell.
Do I need multimedia:/audio:/snapshot/openSUSE_12.1 repo as well?

More info on the noise :

Mic has to be unmuted and its volume has to be 1 or more to silence the noise.
If the mic volume is 0 then mute doesn't matter and mute/unmute don't make any
noise, play/stop will make the noise.
If the mic volume is 1 or more, mute/unmute will make noise, play/stop makes
noise only when mic is muted.
