RE Allocation to Major - Since 10.1 it has not been able to browse for other
NFS Client on the network, nor successfully use NFS V4, or GSS Security (what
ever that's suppose to do) you have to use the NFS Servers IP address.
Reading the Help Page....

Here, choose whether to start an NFS server on your computer and export some of
your directories to others.
If you choose Start NFS Server, clicking Next opens a configuration dialogue in
which to specify the directories to export.
Firewall Settings
To open the firewall to allow access to the service from remote computers, set
Open Port in Firewall.
To select interfaces on which to open the port, click Firewall Details.
This option is available only if the firewall is enabled.
If the server needs to handle NFSv4 clients, check Enable NFSv4, and fill in
the NFSv4 domain name you want the id mapping daemon to use. Leave it as
localdomain or refer to the man page for idmapd and idmapd.conf if you are not
sure.
If the server and client must authenticate using GSS library, please enable the
Enable GSS Security checkbox. For being able to use GSS API, currently you need
to have Kerberos and gssapi (nfs-utils > 1.0.7) on your system......!

Doesn’t tell us much at all- In reality you dont need to touch anything on the
back tab of NFS Client, which opends the firewall, to get NFS Clients to work!
As soon as an NFS Server is setup, the Firewall is opened for both NFS Server
AND Client weather both are needed or not.
A NFS Client can be successfully setup, using only the IP address and not
bothering with the tab behind the setup on an NFS Client. The back tab is
suppose to open the firewall for NFS Clients but in reality it does nothing as
far as I can see.
With the Kernel, seeming to me, to control NFS Servers and Clients I wonder
just how many can be setup over different networks and different subnet masks,
let alone any network that is somehow is on the same LAN CAT5/6e - WIFI an
Intruder?
It dont know why or indeed if it does browse and find nfs clients on the test
network you use at suse.de...Working out why this doesn't work outside4 your
test lab at suse.de, might just
