https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=735083 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=735083#c0 Summary: Vlan tagging is not working on Intel e1000. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: claus@soonr.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 We're using kernel-xen (latest update as of 12/6/2011). We have a standard intel based server - using e1000 ethernet driver. We simply cannot get vlan tagging to work on our server. The exact same system had vlan tagging working under OpenSuSE 11.3. After an upgrade to 11.4 - it's no longer working. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Simply install 11.4 - setup a vlan tagging net-if. Config which worked under 11.3: ifcfg-eth0: BOOTPROTO='static' IPADDR='0.0.0.0/32' NAME='82576 Gigabit Network Connection' PREFIXLEN='32' STARTMODE='auto' USERCONTROL='no' ifcfg-vlan2: BOOTPROTO='static' ETHERDEVICE='eth0' IPADDR='0.0.0.0/32' NAME='vlan2 interface' PREFIXLEN='32' STARTMODE='auto' USERCONTROL='no' ifcfg-br2: BOOTPROTO='static' BRIDGE='yes' BRIDGE_FORWARDDELAY='0' BRIDGE_PORTS='vlan2' BRIDGE_STP='off' #IPADDR='0.0.0.0/32' IPADDR='192.168.2.51/24' PREFIXLEN='32' STARTMODE='auto' USERCONTROL='no' We have noted that ethtool -k reports: rx-vlan-offload: on tx-vlan-offload: on However - we cannot turn this off ! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
