I have similar experience on my x86 PC where the display image is distorted and
frozen. If I hard reset/boot the install will complete the final stage anyway
thanks to good old robust suse Linux. However the next phase will complete if I
wait until the HDD diode ceases to blink which is about 10 minutes because the
screen is kaput-fluey and I can't see what is going on I then issue 2
ctlr+alt+backspace wait 10 seconds then ctlr+alt+delete then 2-3 down arrows.
The PC boots up fine as if the bug never happened. If I reset/boot the PC
before the HDD diode stops blinking then I get grub errors or who knows what
error message depending on where I interrupt the second or final stage.
