https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=734621 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=734621#c0 Summary: openSUSE 12.1 install DVD lacks ext4 in initrd Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: PC OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: chris.sylvain@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 ext4 not in INITRD_MODULES list in /etc/sysconfig/kernel and not in initrd in DVD image. with ext4 now the default fs type, SUSE 12.1 seemed a good moment to change the rootfs from ext3 to ext4 upon upgrade from 11.4. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. change fs type for rootfs in <upgrade-disk>/etc/fstab from ext3 to ext4 2. boot freshly upgraded kernel installed from openSUSE 12.1 DVD (Release 1.4) 3. type 'mount' or 'df -T' or 'cat /etc/mtab' and note rootfs is still mounted as fs type ext3 4. add ext4 after ext3 entry in INITRD_MODULES 5. run mkinitrd 6. reboot once more 7. do any one of the Step 3 commands above and note rootfs is now mounted as fs type ext4 Expected Results: expected 3.1.0-1.2 kernel initrd to be "ext4 ready" since the distro is ready. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
