In the meantime I had the opportunity to test it on an opensuse 12.1 32bit
system:
Same result: When I exit, the acroread window shuts, but the acroread process
remains.
I could also test it on an ubuntu 11.10 32bit system (kernel 3.0) with acroread
9.4.6 . There it behaves normal: All acroread processes shut down as they
should when i do an exit.
In comment #7 i still thought it is an adobe problem, but now, looking at
ubuntu, i think there must be something fixed in opensuse.
