Silviu Marin-Caea and Stefan Seyfried, very many thanks for your valuable contribution to openSUSE! Stefan Seyfried, regarding comment #65: "package serial and parallel backends as an addon package" is exactly the only right solution. We already have the package cups-backends in "Printing" to provide "stand-alone" addon backends for CUPS (i.e. for backends which do not belong to another package). Perhaps a backend for a parallel printer may belong to the parallel-printer-support package? Because the CUPS backend sources parallel.c and serial.c include various CUPS "private" stuff via "backend-private.h" it is perhaps easier to have simple scripts as backends for parallel and serial printers e.g. similar as the "careless backend for a single USB printer" described at http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Using_Your_Own_Backends_to_Print_with_CUPS -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
