https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=727238 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=727238#c0 Summary: HP Proliant Microserver will not boot from a known working openSUSE 11.3 Gnome live USB stick Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium AssignedTo: coolo@suse.com ReportedBy: stanch@ntlworld.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 I have a problem where my nice new HP Proliant Microserver will not boot from a known working openSUSE 11.3 Gnome live USB stick. It shows the first menu screen and I select openSUSE Live (GNOME). After a few minutes the following pops up and it eventually reboots, and the cycle recommences. [0.0950385] pci_root PNP0A08:00: address space collision: host bridge window [mem 0x000d0000-0x0000dfff] conflict with Adapter ROM [mem0x000cf000-0x000d19ff] [2.688995] i8042.c: No controller found This Live USB stick boots fine in my desktop pc. I have created a LiveCD from the same .iso and this boots fine on the HP Proliant Microserver using an external USB CD drive. It is the same with openSUSE 11.4 & openSUSE RC12.1 Live USBs. Ubuntu 10-10 runs "Try-it!" without error. Using same Live Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create live usb stick/pendrive from live Gnome isos by all known means (yet to try KIWI) 2.Eor USB bnsure Bios settings allow USB booting, ensure pendrive is first in bootlist 3.On boot select 1st in list Gnome Live! Actual Results: After 20 seconds or so this is displayed :- [0.0950385] pci_root PNP0A08:00: address space collision: host bridge window [mem 0x000d0000-0x0000dfff] conflict with Adapter ROM [mem0x000cf000-0x000d19ff] [2.688995] i8042.c: No controller found Then someting about KIWI CD and then finally reboots Expected Results: A working openSUSE system running from a liveUSB Please see thread :- http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/hardware/467024-l... I am not sure if this will help. lspci > 00:00.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780 Host Bridge Alternate 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Hewlett-Packard Company Device 9602 00:06.0 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780 PCI to PCI bridge (PCIE port 2) 00:11.0 SATA controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 SATA Controller [AHCI mode] (rev 40) 00:12.0 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB OHCI0 Controller 00:12.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB EHCI Controller 00:13.0 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB OHCI0 Controller 00:13.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB EHCI Controller 00:14.0 SMBus: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 SMBus Controller (rev 42) 00:14.1 IDE interface: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 IDE Controller (rev 40) 00:14.3 ISA bridge: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 LPC host controller (rev 40) 00:14.4 PCI bridge: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 PCI to PCI Bridge (rev 40) 00:16.0 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB OHCI0 Controller 00:16.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB EHCI Controller 00:18.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor HyperTransport Configuration 00:18.1 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor Address Map 00:18.2 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor DRAM Controller 00:18.3 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor Miscellaneous Control 00:18.4 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 10h Processor Link Control 01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M880G [Mobility Radeon HD 4200] 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5723 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe (rev 10) lsusb > Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 003: ID 046e:300f Behavior Tech.
