Apper on 11.4 is a total pain to install, and I haven't made a one click
installer to make it easy:
1) register GNOME:STABLE:3.2 repo:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/STABLE:/3.2/openSUSE_11.4/GNOME:STABLE:3.2.repo
2) zypper dup with it, making sure PackageKit 0.6.19 is installed
3) install libpackagekit-qt2-2
4a) osc co home:wstephenson:branches:KDE:Distro:Factory apper; osc build
GNOME_STABLE_3.2_openSUSE_11.4 <your_arch> apper.spec
or, after it has rebuilt and published:
4b) register my branch of KDF with the fixed package
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/wstephenson:/branches:/KDE:/Distro:/Factory/GNOME_STABLE_3.2_openSUSE_11.4/home:wstephenson:branches:KDE:Distro:Factory.repo
5) install apper from your local build or the above branch repo
6) zypper in --force flash-player-10.2.152.26-2.1 (the vanilla 11.4 version) to
give you something to test with
7) relogin to get the new apper running
8) run apper, select updates, see flash-player, try to update, accept EULA
*CAVEAT* after accepting EULA you need to re-accept the package again - this
time it installs though.
