--- Comment #8 from Thomas Fehr 2011-10-26 17:18:24 UTC ---
/dev/sda3 is not detected as /home partition because it isn´t one.
It is a partition for root, there is no separate /home partiton on disk
(sda1 is swap, sda2 is /boot and sda3 is /) so this is normal.
It does not propose a separate /home in your case after you told it
to use btrfs because size requirements for root fs on btrfs are twice
as big as for ext* (all the snapshot stuff only makes sense if one
has lots of free space available and btrfs currently does not behave
well if space is tight). This increased size requirements made proposal
code decide you have not enough space available that it makes
sense to suggest a separate /home.
In addition bug #721664 caused the popup telling you about that
fact to be missing.
In next release you should see a Popup saying:
"Not enough space available to propose a separate /home"
Increasing disk size to about 20G in VirtualBox should
get you a separate /home proposed also for btrfs.
