--- Comment #10 from James PEARSON 2011-10-22 14:35:24 CEST ---
The following remarks complete the log details in comments 6, 7, 8 and 9
I just did a fresh install during openSUSE-DVD-Build0379-i586.iso with no wired
network connection.
BTW, the fresj install was done using the iso copied to my USB key. The
installation worked perfectly - this is an excellent improvement! Thank yo!
# System details
OS: Linux 3.1.0-rc9-1-desktop i686
System: openSUSE 12.1 RC 1 (i586)
KDE: 4.7.2 (4.7.2)
Post install comment
I see progress and the nature of the problem has changed but the fact still
remains that I still can not establish a network connect using NetworkManager
My "post fresh installation comments follow
Initially on first boot when I click on "Manage Connections" in NetworkManager
I get a KDE error message "Insufficent priviledges"
Eventually the window with connection details in NetworkManager does open.
I entered my Wifi settings and try to connect but the connection blocks at
"Waiting for authorization"
I shutdown and rebooted once and re configured NetworkManager again because the
password had disappeared
This time I made sure that:
the option "Connect automatically" had been selected
the password has been entered
No change the any Wifi connection attempts block at:
"Waiting for authorization"
"Not connected"
Note
The option "IPv4 is required for this connection" us selected"
The connection method is "Automatic (DHCP)"
I wired eth0 connection works OK
It disconnect it and try to establish a wifi connection
