KDE. Network manager was not visible. I had to right click in the service tray and activate the network manager icon. This leaves a red x in the service tray. CLicking on this says on the left side (interfaces) "We need Networkmanager version >==0.9.0 to work, found" THe installed version is 0.9.1, so there is another problem that has escaped attention. 1. For latptop in KDE network manager should default to on. 2. some sort of version/compatibility issue needs review. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Acer Notpad 1gb ram. Fresh install using 64bit 12.1 beta 1 2. Attempt to connect to network. LOok for network manager in the service tray 3. Right clock on service tray, and add network manager. 4. See red X 5.
