https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=721878 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=721878#c0 Summary: Suggestion to make DVD image usable on USB-stick Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: f.de.kruijf@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 I copied the x86_64 DVD iso using imagewriter to a 16GB USB stick and tried to boot from it. It did boot until preparing udev, after the system hangs. My suggestion is, if the above is not a bug, to make it possible to boot the DVD image from a USB-stick and do the installation from this stick. Maybe it is needed to have USB-stick present under the F4 key on the boot menu when booting from the USB-stick.
