https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=721758 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=721758#c0 Summary: Wireless LAN card loses secrets after initial setup and disconnects from network Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Beta 1 Platform: x86 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: peter@lusmore.org.uk QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 Using KDENetworkmanager and a BCM4312 based Dell WLAN card I can connect to a network using WPA-PSK however after around 5 minutes a message pops up from Policykit asking for the root password to make some changes, enter this and get message saying WLAN link has failed. Networkmanager log shows that link is waiting for authentication and there are no secrets i.i. WPA-PSK key has been lost. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create WLAN link with WPA-PSK key and activate 2. Once message appears from policykit, enter root password 3. WLAN link doesn't activate and log message states link is waiting for authorisation and that there are no secrets 4. KDENetworkmanager shows link is still connected (but it isn't) Expected Results: The link should stay up while in range of router (PC was .5m away in this instance) and if the link does fail it should reconnect automatically. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
