https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=715874 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=715874#c0 Summary: Failure of setting to auto disable touchpad when another mouse is found (12.1M5). Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: nrickert@ameritech.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0 The setting Personal Settings --> Input Devices --> Touchpad --> Automatic Configuration where you can set the touchpad to be disabled when a usb or bluetooth mouse is found - this setting is non-functional. I believe the problem is that the setting needs the "hal" daemon to work, and "hal" does not appear to be in the repos for 12.1M5. Note: I first installed M5 with an update from an earlier milestone. That was a 32 bit install. The setting worked there. Either "hal" is in the 32 bit repo, or it was remained on my system from M2 or M3. (I manually installed "hal" on M2). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install M5, and try the setting. 2. 3. Actual Results: The touchpad keeps working (and getting in the way), even though I have another mouse connected. Expected Results: The touchpad should have been ignored in presence of another mouse. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
