https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=701250 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=701250#c0 Summary: bash HISTTIMEFORMAT displays unexpected results Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: support@microtechniques.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Every since the most recent set of security and tumbleweed updates, every other line in my .bash_history files are of the format #nnnnnnnnnn with an example being #1308655976. They appear to be timestamps. I tried changing the HISTTIMEFORMAT value, but none of the settings provided the documented output, and the format of the .bash_history file was independent of the setting of HISTTIMEFORMAT. I was able to get rid of the unwanted lines and return the output the what it looked like prior to the updates by putting unset HISTTIMEFORMAT in the bash.bashrc.local file. The bash history timestamp feature seems to be broken. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. display .bash_history 2. 3. Actual Results: every other line is of the form #nnnnnnnnnn and saved commands are not preceded by date/time. Expected Results: Each line a saved command preceded by a date/time. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
