@Michael: I dealt with the GStreamer problem by installing the patched version
from Packman, but I re-created the issue by picking another noncritical
package, espeak. I reverted it to the non-patched (original) version, locked
this version, and then did "zypper list-patches" and "zypper patch". It looked
at /etc/zypp/locks but did not recognize that the lock stanza was applicable.
Here's the content of /etc/zypp/locks (file has an empty line at the start and
end:
type: package
match_type: glob
case_sensitive: on
solvable_name: espeak-1.43.03-4.1.x86_64
