I wonder -- I have a PS/2 mouse port, connecting 2 different mice to it, they
don't work. The one with the USB->PS/2 adapter lights up but doesn't work. That
could be a hardware bug that's getting in the way.
I know the PS/2 mouse works on another box and the other one works on this box
when connected to a USB port.
There is no option in the BIOS to turn it off. I'll try kernel reconfiguration.
