https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693883 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693883#c0 Summary: KDE menu has problems displaying icons named unknown*.{png, xpm, svg} Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: nmo.marques@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.24 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/11.0.696.68 Safari/534.24 I was packaging a small application (game) which installs an icon on %{_datadir}/pixmaps/unknown-horizons.xpm. While this works greatly for GNOME2/GNOME3, KDE4 doesn't display the icon on the menu. The .desktop entry file is compliant with the Free Desktop standards, as such it has the following entry: Icon=unknown-horizons If we convert this icon to svg for example and place it on %{_datadir}/icons/hicolor/scalable/ the same behavior happens. If we name the icon to uh.{png, xpm, svg} and place it on one of the previous locations it works. This leads me to conclude that KDE has a problem when handing application icons that start with 'unknown'. I've burned a USB stick with an image of Fedora 14 and the very same exact behavior is seen. Guys please fix this :) PS: If we wanna get dirty and punch in the full path for the icon (%{_datadir}/pixmaps/unknown-horizons.{svg,xpm,png}) in the .desktop entry, KDE has no issues using it. Reproducible: Always Actual Results: The icon should be displayed on the menu Expected Results: The icon isn't displayed on the menu -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
