Timo,
I left the dbus-monitor --session active and now I seem to only be getting
updates when I switch to a different application, so that seems good to me.
Would you believe System monitor seems to be a potential source of the problem.
My system load is way down after closing it. I checked the stats with top and
then restarted it, dbus had no activity.
I'm not sure exactly what is going on, it could be that I had system monitor
running for too long and it became unstable, as it was running for a number of
days.
I'd be willing to load debug packages as it is would be useful for me to be get
some practice with it. I tried to zypper it in previously, but I don't seem to
have the repo for it.
Working my way down your reply I read the "foreign" bugz last and find this
with:
# ls /proc/| awk '{if($1+0==0) print " "; else system("echo `ls
/proc/"$1+0"/fd|wc -l` "$1" `cat /proc/"$1+0"/cmdline` ")}' | sort -nr | head
1024 2596 /bin/dbus-daemon--fork--print-pid5--print-address7--session
976 6580 /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kpackagekitsmarticon
165 728 /usr/lib/firefox/firefox
104 2192 /usr/lib/postfix/master
So yes, this looks like the same thing.
